Natick MA Afternoon Recitals
Children's Recital at 2:00pm
This recital, featuring 13 elementary and intermediate piano students was held at 2:00 pm at the Hartford Street Presbyterian Church in Natick, MA. Many friends and family members were in attendance.
Students traveled from many towns in the MetroWest area including Ashland, Dover, Framingham, Hudson, Marlborough, Natick, Sherborn, Wayland, and Wellesley.
Performing at this first recital were students,
Nasreen Bhumgara,
Arden Knapp,
Grace Davis,
Jessica Gray,
Shiva Rajagopal,
Zachary Knapp,
Isabella Vanrooyen,
Alex Beer,
Skylar Schmid,
Hunter Leonard and
Makiah Bennett.
Also among the highlights was Jessica Gray performing traditional pieces including
Sweetly Sings the Donkey and Home on the Range.

Youth Recital at 3:30 PM
This recital, featuring intermediate and advanced students ranging in age from 13 to 18, a total of 10 students in all, was held at 3:30 pm at the same location.
An enthusiastic audience enjoyed a variety of excellent performances by
Emily Benjamin,
Sean Gentry,
Maddie Sookdeo,
Paul Andresen,
Matthew Gentry,
Alex Barberio,
Krishna Canning,
Nathan Leach,
Teddy Billings and
Alexander Koure.
Performances consisted of classical, jazz and popular selections as well as several duets.
Among the many highlights, were Paul Andresen performing Cole Porter's
I Love Paris,
Krishna Canning performing
In The Mood
the classic made popular by the Glenn Miller Band,
Nathan Leach performing
It Never Entered My Mind by Richard Rodgers and
Teddy Billings performing Jerome Kern's beautiful composition
Yesterday's.
Also among the highlights, were performances of two original pieces
Accelerando and
Water Mosaic.
Both works were composed and performed by Alex Barberio.

Hudson MA Recital
This afternoon recital was held on June 27 and marked our first piano recital held at our Hudson MA Piano Studio.
The recital featured several students from the Hudson Piano Studio.
These are students of our Hudson location instructors including Robin Cho and Karen Fahey.
Another enthusiastic audience enjoyed a variety of excellent performances by

Benjamin Carme,
Katie Hodge,
Shiva Rajagopal,
Ethan Cox,
Clotilde Tuleu,
Melanie Nelson,
Marin Tuleu and
Lisa Mccabe.
The many highlights at the Hudson MA Piano Studio recital included student Benjamin Carme playing the Michael Jackson tune We Are The World with his teacher Robin Cho.

Adult Recital
The evening program consisted of performances by seven adult students at the home of Lisa and Jerry Carroll of Natick.
Performing at the 7:00 PM recital were seven of Ed Mascari's adult piano students,
Debbie Lovewell,
Kelly Rutherford,
Richard Blacquier,
Mary Rapa,
Sarah Reiss,
Lisa Carroll and
Ken Taylor.
The students played a nice mixture of selections by George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers,
Vernon Duke, and Irving Berlin as well as classical favorites by Clementi and Brahms.
Among the evening's many highlights was a performance by Ken Taylor of
Alice In Wonderland and
a duet by Ken and Ed of
One Note Samba,
which may or may not be Sarah's favorite song.
Our gracious hosts provided refreshments and a good time was had by all!

Why do piano teachers hold recitals?
The most important reason for having a recital every year is to provide
each student with the opportunity to work towards the goal of performing at
least one piece really well. Without exception and regardless of age, students rise to the occasion. They practice more, focus better and put forth the extra effort to make sure that their piano recital performance is the best it can be.
Students also get two additional important benefits from recitals.
First, they get to hear other students (especially the more advanced ones)
who provide the inspiration for them to keep practicing. They then have a
level of piano playing to which they can aspire.
Second, they involve their family members in the process of preparing for and performing at their recital. As a result, they often receive encouragement
and support from those closest to them. This can have a huge impact on their motivation and ultimate success!
